Danish Data Authority Closes Case on Rejsekort App

You can continue using the Rejsekort app as usual without official privacy warnings. Denmark's Data Protection Authority has officially closed its investigation into the app. The authority found no sufficient grounds to criticize how the app collects personal data.

The investigation began in the summer of 2024. Officials examined how the company tracks and processes user location data. The app relies on physical locations during travel to calculate accurate ticket prices.

Problems can occur if passengers forget to check out at their destination. If automatic check-out features are turned off, the app may keep tracking user locations. The authority noted that this tracking could potentially involve sensitive personal data. However, the authority will take no further action against the company.
