/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Runners entering the 2027 Copenhagen Half Marathon must join a ticket lottery. Organizer Sparta Atletik og Løb announced the change in a news release. The race takes place on September 19, 2027. It will expand to 45,000 runners due to high demand. Around 35,000 people are running in this year's race. That is up from about 32,000 runners in 2025.
Tickets for 2027 will no longer be sold on a first-come basis. Lottery registration opens on September 16 and lasts for two weeks. People can register alone or in groups of up to three. Group entries are selected together or not at all. Selected runners will get 48 hours to buy their ticket. The ticket costs 795 Danish kroner plus a small administration fee.
CEO Dorte Vibjerg said everyone deserves a fair chance at a bib number. The organizers used a lottery for this year's race as well. This year's CPH Half is part of the World Athletics Road Running Championships. Major races in Berlin and London use similar lottery systems. This year's race starts on Sunday. Elite runners start first, followed by other participants. The report was published by CPH Post.
