Court Sentences Three in Danish Nail Salon Trafficking Case

A 39-year-old woman received three years in prison for human trafficking. She appealed the judgment on the spot and demanded acquittal. Her sister and former boyfriend were convicted of human exploitation. They each received one year and six months in prison. The sister also appealed the verdict immediately.
The victims were lured to Denmark from Vietnam. They were kept in difficult conditions in the two salons. The managers controlled the bank accounts of the eight women. Monthly salaries ranged between 5,000 and 7,300 Danish kroner. All earnings were sent to the women's families in Vietnam. The case details were reported by Ritzau and DR.
