Copenhagen Parking Fee Could Rise to 30,000 Kroner

Living in Copenhagen could soon become much more expensive for car owners. The green party Alternativet wants to raise annual parking fees to 30,000 kroner. Currently, an average parking license in the capital costs 2,500 kroner a year. The party states that cars occupy valuable urban space at very low prices.

Weather in Denmark will also take a turn this weekend. The Danish Meteorological Institute warns of heavy rain and strong winds across the country. Temperatures will range between 17 and 22 degrees Celsius throughout the weekend.

Denmark is also demanding big cuts to the proposed European Union budget. It joined Sweden, Germany, Finland, Austria, and the Netherlands in this effort. Meanwhile, Parliament approved 300,000 kroner compensation for Greenlandic women in the IUD scandal.

Denmark's economy is showing strong signs of growth for 2026. Official forecasts predict GDP growth of 3.7 percent this year. Pharmaceutical exports, especially weight-loss drugs from Novo Nordisk, drive this surge. Additionally, the Danish state pension will increase to 200,940 kroner before tax in 2027.
