Copenhagen Metro sets record with 1.4 million weekend passengers

The Copenhagen Metro set a new passenger record last weekend. Between Friday and Sunday, 1.4 million passengers rode the network. This high traffic came during the World Road Cycling Championships.

Metroselskabet announced the numbers in a press release. The previous weekend record stood at 1.36 million passengers from December 2025.

Roads across the capital closed for the cycling event. Tens of thousands of people traveled across the city at once. Metroselskabet stated that the Metro kept the city connected during the major event.
