Copenhagen Ends DAO Mail Contract Over Labor Standards
Copenhagen Municipality will end its official letter delivery contract with DAO in August 2026 over labor standard issues.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Copenhagen residents receiving official city mail will soon see a change in delivery services. Copenhagen Municipality will end its mail delivery contract with distribution company Dansk Avis Omdeling.
The official contract will end at the end of August 2026. Lord Mayor Sisse Marie Welling announced the decision. She stated that DAO could not guarantee proper labor standards. Subcontractors failed to comply with collective wage agreements.
The municipality is now transitioning its official mail services to a new arrangement. This change affects official city letters, tax documents, and public notices. The Copenhagen Post reported the decision on August 12, 2026.
