Copenhagen court sentences woman for phone scams posing as police

Copenhagen District Court sentenced a woman to ten months in prison for fraud today. The 24-year-old woman played a role in several phone scam cases. She must pay court costs and 115,000 Danish kroner in total compensation. The district court shared the ruling details with news agency Ritzau, Danish broadcaster DR reported.

The phone scams happened between October 2024 and May 2025. The woman pretended to be a police officer over the telephone. An accomplice then went to the victims' homes to collect their bank cards. The perpetrators withdrew 260,000 Danish kroner in total from ten affected citizens. The woman denied all charges in court.
