Copenhagen Apartment Sales Fall as Housing Market Cools Down

Buying an apartment in Copenhagen may soon become cheaper for local residents. Sales of owner-occupied apartments in Copenhagen Municipality fell sharply in July 2026. Only 407 apartments were sold during that month. This represents a 24 percent drop compared to June 2026. It is also a 40 percent decline from July 2025.

Nordea housing economist Lise Nytoft Bergmann analyzed the latest market figures. She noted that monthly sales usually range between 400 and 600 units. Historical data shows that apartment prices usually fall when sales slow down. The current sharp decline suggests that price adjustments may happen soon. The Copenhagen Post reported these findings on the local housing market.
