Copenhagen Airport Sets New Summer Record with 9.9 Million Passengers

Copenhagen Airport handled a record 9.9 million passengers this summer. Travelers from Denmark and southern Sweden faced busy terminals across June, July, and August. Passenger volume grew by three percent compared to the previous record in 2025.

Chief commercial officer Peter Krogsgaard noted most days saw over 100,000 passengers. He compared daily summer traffic to hosting a Roskilde Festival every single day. Eight out of ten travelers flew within Europe. Spain was the most popular destination, with 789,000 passengers. Italy followed with 714,000 passengers, showing a ten percent increase.

Long-haul flights carried 1.5 million passengers, representing 12 percent of all travelers. This long-haul segment grew by five percent over the previous year. Growth was driven by new Asian routes to Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul. Airlines also added departures to Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beijing.
