However, the rule does not mean random mobile phone searches for all travellers.

China’s current visa-free entry policies also remain unchanged.

Foreign nationals who provide false information risk entry bans of one to five years.

Individuals writing fake invitation letters face fines up to 10,000 yuan.

Organizations issuing fake documents face fines up to 50,000 yuan.

Travel agencies and visa intermediaries must also register with local authorities.

China will also upgrade travel risk warnings for Chinese citizens abroad.

Authorities may advise caution or discourage travel to high-risk zones.

In addition, citizens punished for border fraud face exit bans up to three years.

Premier Li Qiang signed these State Council regulations under Decree No 841.
