China Updates Exit and Entry Rules Effective September 2026

China has issued new exit and entry rules that start on September 15, 2026. People in Denmark and Sweden must make sure travel papers fit their real trip plan. The State Council set the new rules in Decree Number 841, Azernews reported.

The new rules create strict border checks to stop document fraud. Chinese citizens who break border laws face exit bans of six months to three years upon return to China. Foreign travelers who give false travel items face entry bans of one to five years.
