China to Enforce Entry Bans of Up to Five Years for False Visa Statements
Starting September 15, 2026, China will enforce entry bans of up to five years for foreign nationals who submit false visa documents.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /China will ban travelers for up to five years if they lie on visa forms, starting September 15, 2026. This affects residents in Denmark and Sweden who plan trips to China with foreign family members, spouses, or colleagues.
China's State Council passed Decree 841 with these new rules. Foreigners who use fake papers or give false information face entry bans from one to five years.
People or groups that issue fake invite letters face fines up to 50,000 RMB. Visa agencies must also register under the new rules. The state will also issue travel risk alerts for Chinese citizens going abroad.
