China Enforces Stricter Exit and Entry Rules
New travel regulations give Chinese immigration officials broader powers to verify travel purposes and inspect documents.

State Council Decree No. 841 officially took effect on this date. The framework gives immigration authorities broader powers to verify travel purposes.
Officials can now request supporting electronic data during border inspections. Providing false documents or misrepresenting travel reasons can lead to entry bans.
These entry bans will range from one to five years. The new framework also introduces tighter regulations for visa agencies.
