Buying an Electric Car in Denmark May Soon Cost More
Electric vehicles made up nearly 86 percent of new car registrations in Denmark in August, but upcoming tax increases could raise prices for buyers next year.

Electric vehicles accounted for 85.9 percent of those new registrations. The registration tax on electric cars is scheduled to rise next year. Higher taxes mean buyers will pay more for electric vehicles.
Mobility Denmark chief executive Mads Rørvig warned against the planned tax increase. He urged Danish politicians to hold back on raising the registration fee. Rørvig stated that making electric cars pricier would be completely backwards. He argued that politicians should not penalize the growing success of electric cars. His comments were released in a press statement reported by Ritzau and DR.
