Billund Creates International Council Appointed Mainly by Danish Bodies

Foreign residents in Billund now have an official advisory body. However, local Danish institutions selected most of its members.

Billund Municipality created the International Council to advise local officials. It aims to address the needs of foreign workers and families.

The Municipal Council approved the new council on June 16. The municipality saw strong growth in foreign residents and international businesses.

These companies rely heavily on workers from abroad. The stated goal is making Billund attractive and inclusive for everyone.

However, internationals did not choose most council members directly. Instead, appointments came through Danish political, business, and civic institutions.
