The autumn holiday begins tomorrow for many residents.
The Danish Road Directorate issued a warning for major motorways across the country.
Congestion will peak on Friday between 14:00 and 18:00.
Traffic will also be dense on Saturday between 11:00 and 14:00.
Drivers should expect the worst delays on the motorway network.
Return traffic will create additional delays at the end of the holiday week.
Heavy traffic is expected on Saturday, 17 October, from 11:00 to 14:00.
Sunday, 18 October, will see congestion between 14:00 and 18:00.
Ongoing roadworks will also slow down travel across the road network.
