Alternativet wants Copenhagen parking licenses to cost up to 30,000 Danish kroner per year.
Karoline Lindgaard is group leader for Alternativet in the Copenhagen City Council.
She stated that Copenhagen currently has too many cars.
According to her, this high number of cars deeply affects the city.
Right now, a parking license in Copenhagen costs 2,500 Danish kroner on average.
News agency Ritzau provided the current average cost figure.
Alternativet points out that parking spots take up valuable city space.
This space costs much less than local housing per square meter.
Lindgaard believes drivers should pay the actual value of that space.
