Aarhus Installs New Red-Light Traffic Cameras Before Year End

Aarhus will install a red-light camera at a busy intersection before year end. The camera will stand at Paludan-Müllers Vej and Hasle Ringvej. Drivers running red lights there will receive automatic fines. They will also get a penalty point on their driving license.

Aarhus Mayor Anders Winnerskjold announced the news on Facebook. This is the second intersection getting a red-light camera this year. City officials previously selected the junction at Edwin Rahrs Vej and Åby Ringvej. Two young women died in traffic accidents there within a few years.

Both cameras will start operating before the end of this year. In Denmark, running red lights results in fines and license points. Local drivers must follow traffic light regulations carefully.
